Advocacy & Issues

The changing legal and regulatory landscape in Canada is having an increasing impact on utilities and critical infrastructure operations.  Reliable, secure and sustainable telecommunications and information technology networks are essential for utilities and critical infrastructure operations to protect, secure, control and monitor their critical infrastructure.

UTC Canada works collaboratively with its Canadian members to identify their needs, develop strategies and advocate on their behalf to ensure that Canadian policymakers and regulators understand and address the unique needs of utilities and critical infrastructure owners/operators.

Through its affiliations with the Utilities Technology Council (UTC) headquartered in Washington, D.C., UTC Canada benefits from UTC staff expertise in regulatory affairs and technical knowledge to provide a broader perspectives on spectrum, policies and regulatory compliance issues that have a direct impact on its members. UTC Canada works with Canadian legal firms and collaborates with other Canadian organizations to provide valuable services, practical solutions and build a community of knowledge among its members.
